The KWS promotes contemporary fine arts of a figurative nature in Switzerland. All the usual artistic forms of expression are promoted, except for installation and performance.
The KWS reserves the right to define the boundaries between figurative / abstract art using its own criteria.
The KWS fulfils its foundation objective through two specific activities:
Purchase of works for the KWS Collection
Awarding of the KWS-Prize
No applications are accepted for the purchase of works, but applications may be submitted for the Prize.
Limiting criteria
As a matter of principle, funding is not given for any form of project or grant-subsidized work.
In addition, the following are not funded:
Cost contributions to training, stays, infrastructure and operating costs, printing costs, bridging loans and deficit guarantees, loans, grants, conferences and seminars, PR and web projects, films and other media, exhibitions.
The KWS does not provide sponsorships.
