The objective of the KWS Prize is to promote mainly young Swiss artists who have distinguished themselves in the field of figurative art through exceptional artistic talent.
The KWS Prize includes:
Fr. 10,000.– in cash to be used as the winner chooses
Purchase of work for the KWS Collection
Publication and funding of a monograph catalogue in the series «KWS Prize».
The Prize is awarded every two years.
The Prize is awarded at a small, personal ceremony attended by the Board of Trustees.
The recipient of the KWS Prize is named directly by the Foundation, although applications are also permitted.
The KWS does not enter into any correspondence concerning decisions on the awarding of the Prize. It does not give reasons for its decisions, which are final. There is no appeal or reconsideration process.
